Trump’s 2016 Election Was an Impeachment – of Obama

If Democrats ever learned from their own mistakes, they would likely come to rue the day that they launched an illegitimate impeachment against an American president over policy differences. But Democrats don’t learn. You take them outside again and again and again, but they keep going potty on the floor every time you turn around.

Ring the impeachment hearings, House Judiciary Committee Chairman and suspected Hobbit, Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), denied minority Republicans the right to hold their own minority hearing day on impeachment – which is a direct violation of House rules.

When Republicans noted that this was a violation of House rules, Nadler overturned Robert’s Rules of Order and refused to even listen to their legitimate Point of Order concerns. By the end of the explosive exchange, Nadler was simply banging his gavel to drown them out.

To their credit, the GOP Members are got a bit rowdy. House rules, Robert’s Rules of Order, the Constitution… Meh! Those things are all in the way of the Democrat Party’s insane desire to undo the 2016 election. Like a junkie needing a Get-Trump fix, no level of depravity is too low for them.

They’re not going to like the result of all of this. It reminds me of former Congressman Trey Gowdy’s remarks after Barack Obama committed one of his impeachable offenses – the unlawful granting of amnesty and work authorizations for 5 million foreign invaders, otherwise known as Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals (DACA). No president in history had ever made such a sweeping change to US law without any input or a vote from Congress.

Gowdy remarked at the time:

“You may benefit from the president’s failure to enforce the law today, but I’ll make you this promise. There will come a day where you will cry out for the enforcement of the law. There will come a day when you long for the law to be the foundation of this republic.”

It would be a good idea for Democrats to review all of the many times and ways that Republicans could have impeached Barack Obama. Many of us on the right actually encouraged the GOP to impeach Obama, because we had never seen such a lawless president in our lifetimes.

We sat in stunned amazement as Obama and his “wingman,” then-Attorney General Eric Holder, refused to turn over Fast and Furious documents to the House Oversight Committee. We were shocked at Obama’s quid pro quo with Vladimir Putin, captured on an open mic, when Obama asked Putin to lay off him until after the election; in exchange, Obama pulled missile defenses back in Eastern Europe.

Likewise, it was shocking to see the Lois Lerner emails that the IRS had attempted to erase, in which she admitted that the IRS deliberately targeted conservative political organizations to aid in Obama’s 2012 reelection campaign.

And without a vote from Congress, Obama sent more than $1 billion in cash to the Muslim Brotherhood which had overthrown our allies in Egypt, while Roy Obama – the best man at Barack and Michelle’s wedding – was the man in charge of the Muslim Brotherhood’s financial accounts at the time.

In addition, the New York Times’ report on the unauthorized use of American taxpayer dollars to pay signing bonuses and monthly salaries to ISIS fighters in Syria seems to have been a borderline treasonous act by Barack Obama. Using the FBI, CIA and NSA to spy on a Fox News reporter didn’t sit well with many of us, either.

When a rifle that the federal government “lost track of” during Operation Fast and Furious later turned up in Paris, France, where it was used to help murder 130 civilians in the Bataclan nightclub, that seemed like maybe an impeachable offense as well, according to those of us in the peanut gallery.

But Republicans never did impeach Obama, and perhaps that’s for the best. We could have ended up with President Joe Biden for a time, followed by a Jeb! presidency if we had impeached him.

Instead, we the people impeached Barack Obama the old-fashioned way. The voters could have opted for a ‘third term’ for Obama by electing you-know-who. Instead, we opted to indict and reject the Washington status quo that the elites favored. We elected Donald Trump, and through that act, we completely rejected and repudiated the Obama presidency.

Democrats are furious about that, so they’ve adopted a new set of rules on impeachment. They’re not going to like what happens if a Democrat ever ends up in the White House again, because the gloves are off now.
