With Impeachment Under Way, Have 2020 Dems Abandoned Campaigning?

admin November 19, 2019 Uncategorized Comments Off on With Impeachment Under Way, Have 2020 Dems Abandoned Campaigning?

The 2020 election cycle has turned out to be a complete dud when compared to 2016. The 2016 primaries were non-stop action, thanks to a certain dramatic real estate tycoon. The media followed Donald Trump everywhere, with what they thought was a two-fold mission: They would tar all Republicans as being exactly like Donald Trump; and the people would find Trump icky because of his wall-building, trade deal-rewriting, and putting Americans ahead of illegal aliens policies.

It turned out that the media’s endless hyperventilating about Donald Trump and his popular policies had the opposite effect.

Nothing during the 2020 campaign has served to generate a level of excitement among Democrats that is comparable to 2016. Now that the media and the DNC have decided that an impeachment is the best way to boost their crop of 2020 candidates, news coverage has pretty much abandoned everything the Democrats are doing on the campaign trail. Is there anything going on with the Democrats?

As it turns out, there is. Unfortunately, it is… *ahem*… not the sort of stuff that the press likes to report on, because it makes the Democrats look bad.

The first obvious question that needs to be addressed is, “What’s up with Hillary?”

After spending more than a year of hinting that she’s going to run for a rematch against Trump, she just missed the New Hampshire filing deadline. If she’s still planning to jump into the race at this late date, why did she opt for skipping New Hampshire? Perhaps because it’s only 3 electoral votes?

Don’t stick a fork in the Crooked One’s campaign dreams yet, though. Hillary hosted a $50,000-a-plate fundraiser in her D.C. home back in October. Heavy-hitting donors showed up and most of the Washington press corps outlets had at least one member in attendance. The topic of conversation for dinner that evening was, “What if Hillary had another shot?” Really subtle!

No mainstream media outlet ever mentioned the big fundraiser at the presumed 2020 nominee’s home which they attended. Why not? Was it sparsely attended? Did not enough donors show up, resulting in an embarrassing evening for Hillary? We may never know, because the press has maintained absolute radio silence on the event for more than a month.

Hillary announced recently that she’s under pressure from “many, many people” to run in 2020, so the door is still open for her. The “many, many people,” of course, are the liberal zillionaire mega-donors who poured millions and millions of dollars into her failed 2008 and 2016 campaigns. They didn’t get a very good return on their investment, did they? No wonder she’s under pressure to run again.

Maybe it’s time to move Hillary from the “Definitely Running” column over to the “Not Sure” column for 2020. She’s given every indication that she wants to run, but still hasn’t jumped in for unknown reasons. Don’t count her out just yet, but she is looking shakier by the day.

Next, we have yet another major campaign blunder by 2020 contender Pete Buttigieg. The mayor of South Bend, Indiana is enjoying a surprise bump in the polls in Iowa, which currently puts him in first place ahead of Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren. That gives the media something to talk about while they avoid mentioning Buttigieg’s disastrous attempt to trick black voters into voting for him.

Buttigieg has been touting his “Douglass Plan,” named after Republican abolitionist Frederick Douglass. It’s a plan to pay federal slavery reparations to people who were never enslaved, along with student loan forgiveness for blacks only and decriminalizing drugs. Because Frederick Douglass was all about free college, reparations and legal pot, apparently.

The Buttigieg campaign made a big fuss over the Douglass Plan in South Carolina, claiming that 400 black leaders had endorsed the plan. As it turns out, the “400 black leaders” claim has about as much credibility as Hillary’s claims that “17 intelligence agencies” had proof of Trump’s Russian collusion – which is to say, Buttigieg’s claims have no credibility at all.

Buttigieg said his plan and his candidacy had been endorsed by three of the most prominent black leaders in South Carolina. They were Columbia City Councilwoman Tameika Devine, Baptist pastor and state Rep. Ivory Thigpen, and Johnnie Cordero, chair of the South Carolina Black Caucus.

All three deny endorsing Buttigieg’s candidacy and his Douglass Plan. Oops!

After that was discovered, people started poring over the list of Buttigieg’s “400 black leaders,” only to discover that 40% of the people on the list were actually prominent white South Carolinians. Double oops. Maybe they were Elizabeth Warren fans who choose to identify as black leaders in South Carolina?

This, of course, comes on top of the revelations that someone in the Indiana clerk’s office shredded “Mayor Pete’s” 2011 campaign filings. No one else in Indiana had their filings from that year shredded – just Buttigieg. Who pulled that one off, and why? Who was on Buttigieg’s list of donors in a 2011 mayoral race that could have harmed his 2020 election chances?

One possibility is longtime South Bend abortion doctor Ulrich “George” Klopfer. When Klopfer died a couple of months ago, thousands of dead babies were discovered stuffed in lab jars in Klopfer’s home. Buttigieg had waged some serious fights in support of Klopfer’s clinic over the years, and the horrifying discoveries after his death may have contributed to the decision to shred Buttigieg’s public records in Indiana.

Every other 2020 campaign is flailing and gasping for air right now (with the sole exception being Trump’s campaign, of course). Some on the left are excited about former Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick entering the race late, but his campaign is a total non-starter. As a candidate, Patrick is even worse than Michael Dukakis. (Pick him, Democrats! Please!)

This seems as good a time as any to remind everyone that Deval Patrick fired the top two officials on the Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board in 2014, when they tried to force his brother-in-law to register as a sex offender for a 1993 rape. It’s been five years since that happened, and Deval Patrick’s brother-in-law was just sentenced to six years in prison for a different rape – after the former governor fought to keep the guy off the sex offender registry. Best of luck in your campaign, Mr. Patrick!

The fake news media and the 2020 candidates have failed to generate any excitement over next year’s election. It looks like the Democrats truly are pinning all of their hopes on impeachment. Do you want to tell them, or shall I?
